Chennai, 4th May 2015: Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. (MTWL), part of the USD 16.5 billion

Mahindra Group, today announced that its Mahindra Peugeot motorcycles dominated last

weekend’s opening round of the Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (CIV 2015

Moto3) winning both races at the Misano circuit in Italy.

Italian youngster Marco Bezzecchi (#12), riding the Mahindra Peugeot MGP3O motorcycle for

team Minimoto Portomaggiore, claimed the top step of the podium in both races of the opening

round. He was joined on the rostrum by team-mate Fabio Spiranelli (#3) in the first race, also

astride the MGP3O, ensuring a double podium for Mahindra Peugeot motorcycles. Spiranelli

was fifth in the second race, capping a strong weekend for the partnership.

This winning start in one of Europe’s most competitive National Racing Championships is a

proud moment for India’s only manufacturer of high performance racing bikes. Motor sports,

particularly motorcycle racing at the highest level, are important test beds for cutting–edge

research and technological development, as well as brand building among consumers in India

and around the world.

The Mahindra Peugeot MGP3O’s double victory in Misano, against an extremely competitive,

top-class field demonstrates Mahindra’s world-class two wheeler technology. It also showcases

the growing synergies between Mahindra Racing and the Peugeot business, and will play an

important role in building the Peugeot brand in Italy and other European markets.

Mahindra were the constructor champions for 2 consecutive years – in 2012 (125GP class) and

in 2013 (in the Moto3 class) in the CIV. In the 2013 CIV Moto3, Mahindra completely dominated

the championship, where besides winning the constructor trophy, Mahindra rider Andrea

Locatelli was also crowned the Italian National Moto3 Champion and the teams second rider

Michael Rinaldi, finished a close second.

Over the past few years, Mahindra has strengthened its position in the global two-wheeler

segment by acquiring a majority stake in Peugeot Motorcycles earlier this year.

In India, Mahindra is developing a range of advanced two wheelers, including the award-winning

Centuro and Gusto that are packed with high performance technology and a host of truly

innovative, consumer-relevant features, never seen before in their categories.

Up next are Rounds 3 and 4 at Vallelunga racetrack, on the 16th and 17th of May 2015 where

Team Minimoto Portomaggiore, riding Mahindra Peugeot Motorcycles, is preparing to put up

another strong showing!
