Seven killed as vehicle runs amok in Rajasthan

Kota May 4 Seven people were killed and another severely injured after their vehicle allegedly ran amok and fell into a drain on Bapawar-Sangod road today, police said.

Seven persons, between 24 to 28 years of age were killed and another severely injured after the taxi jeep they were travelling in lost control and fell into a drain from a bridge in Bapawar police station area of the district today, Sudhir Kumar Yadav, SHO, Bapawar police station said.

The deceased have been identified as Lokesh Meena (25), Naresh Meena (26), Vinod Meghwal (24), Sonu Meghwal (25), Murari (28), Major Singh (27) and Mahendra Singh (25), he said.

Dhara Singh (25) received severe injuries in the mishap and is undergoing treatment at a hospital here, police said.

The victims were the residents of nearby areas of Kota and Baran district and they were on their way to Sangod while the tragedy struck, Yadav said.

The bodies have been handed over to the family after post mortem, he said.

Further investigation is on, police added.
